The Long Way to Finding Myself
A little about me, my work, and how I got here.
For a long time, my life was shaped by survival and doing what I thought made sense, even when it didn’t feel good.
I was born in Taiwan and moved to the U.S. at 13 in pursuit of opportunity and education. As a first-generation immigrant, navigating a new environment while facing a language barrier was a significant challenge, especially since I had to figure things out largely on my own. It taught me resilience, but it also dented my self-esteem.
After graduating from college, I felt lost throughout much of my 20s. My focus was practical: find a job, pay the bills, and keep up with student loan payments. Emotionally, I felt unmotivated, not good enough, and anxious about the future. When I entered banking just before turning 30, it felt like I had finally found the structure and stability, along with a small sense of confidence, I had been missing.
Over time, my career progressed well. Yet after more than a decade of what looked successful on the outside, I felt burned out, stuck, and increasingly consumed by self-doubt. The version of success I had worked so hard to achieve no longer felt like a fair exchange for my health, energy, or relationships.
Looking for a way to cope with stress, I turned to yoga, and eventually, to teaching it. What began as self-care became meaningful work and a deeper practice of listening inward. Yoga showed me that self-inquiry could be just as powerful as effort, and that new possibilities often emerge when we slow down. That same curiosity led me to coaching, which helped me reconnect with my true self and expand my sense of what was possible, for myself and for others.
Many people ask how I transitioned out of my corporate career. Rather than starting from scratch, I leaned into what I already knew about finance and learned new tools that opened the door to accounting and bookkeeping. Along the way, I was fortunate to find a supportive mentor and to work with clients who trust me with their business’s financial health.
Truthfully, fear of uncertainty and failure accompanied me every step of the way, and in many ways, it still does. I haven’t overcome self-doubt. Instead, I’ve learned to meet it with more loving-kindness. I’m learning to embrace all parts of myself, including my imperfections.
Today, my work centers on coaching and consulting for conscientious individuals and small business owners.
As a certified, trauma-informed coach, I support thoughtful, high-capacity people navigating burnout, transitions, self-doubt, or a quiet nudge that something needs to change. My approach starts with amplifying self-awareness and reconnecting with inner wisdom, leading to choices that feel aligned rather than forced.
On the consulting side, I help small business owners create clarity and confidence around their finances. When finances feel clearer, decision-making becomes calmer and more grounded.
Yoga and mindfulness remain my foundation in how I show up, with curiosity and compassion, as well as staying present. Everything I’ve experienced has come together as resources to serve others in a way that feels honest, integrated, and sustainable.
I don’t know how the rest of my story will unfold. But I’m proud of who I am today and deeply grateful for the life I’ve built. Through this space, I hope to support others in experiencing purpose, joy, and success, defined in their own ways.
